Dental Crowns

A dental crown is what we would call a full coverage restoration that's used to restore a tooth that's badly broken down, cracked, or even goes on top of a dental implant, to basically put a tooth back that can't be there itself naturally. One of the big things that patients can benefit from, from our office, is the ability to get that zirconia crown, that hard, tooth-colored, beautiful crown in one visit. We're able to grind the zirconia out using our CEREC technology. In as little as four and a half minutes, we're able to stick that in our oven, which gets up to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and center the zirconia in as little as 18 minutes, and deliver the final restoration. It goes from looking like a white powder to looking like a tooth that you were born with. At that point, it's able to be delivered and seated the same day with minimal to no adjustments, and it really does fit perfectly. Almost everyone is a candidate for a dental crown. If there is a piece of the tooth that's missing, we can replace it with a crown. If there's a tooth that's had a root canal before and a lot of the tooth is missing, we can restore that tooth with a dental crown. It's really important that a crown is done right. One of the things we can do here at Verde Pointe is use technology to analyze the amount of space we need to provide the perfect crown. Care and attention is really important when getting your crowns done, and it comes both to diagnosis and material choices as well.
