Restore a Compromised Tooth with a Dental Crown
What Are CEREC Crowns?
CEREC crowns are permanent, long-lasting restorations created in as little as one hour. Your tooth will be prepped by one of our highly qualified cosmetic dentists without the traditional use of alginates and trays that can make you gag. CEREC is a solution that'll make you smile.
How CEREC Works
- A digital scanner will capture a 3D impression of your prepped tooth.
- Using the digital 3D model, a dental crown is created on the computer.
- A milling machine creates a custom tooth-colored dental crown from a ceramic block while you wait.
- One of our highly skilled dentists permanently cements your crown in place.

The Benefits of CEREC
/
- CEREC crowns are no more expensive than traditional crowns.
- There are no physical trays or impression materials used, meaning no pain or discomfort for patients.
- No temporary crowns are necessary since it's a single-visit procedure.
- Our CEREC crowns are durable and closely resemble a natural tooth.

Improving Your Oral Health Placing and Replacing Dental Crowns
Placement of a Dental Crown at Verde Pointe Dental Associates in Marietta
Dental crowns can restore a broken or decayed tooth, allowing you to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
Crowns can last more than a decade with proper care,
but you will need to eventually replace the restoration.
Here are a few things you can do to help your crowns last...
Caring For Your New Crown
Foods
Hard or sticky foods can damage or dislodge your crown, especially soon after treatment. Avoid chewing on the side of your mouth with the dental crown when having especially crunchy or sticky food items.
Good Oral Hygiene
You can care for crowns like natural teeth. Avoid abrasive toothpastes to prevent scratching the porcelain or other material. Be sure to floss front to back rather than up and down to avoid dislodging your crown.
Regular Dentist Visits
Not only does your biannual dental exam support your oral health, it allows our dentists to keep an eye on the condition of your crown.
Minimize Wear and Tear
If you grind your teeth, wear a nightguard to avoid excessive wear. Biting your fingernails and opening packages with your teeth can also have an adverse effect on porcelain and other crown materials. Use scissors to open packages, and be sure to avoid potentially harmful bad habits.

I am not a dentist fan but I left super happy with this place. I hardly had to wait. My hygienist Stephanie was super nice. The cleaning was so fast and they have all the high tech equipment. I was so impressed. Everyone was so nice. Dr. McGrath was great as well and I felt very comfortable with him. I will be staying here as a patient. Christina T.
