If you have or are facing the reality of losing a front tooth, you may be a candidate for an immediate dental implant supported replacement.  Replacing a tooth with an implant, is the best possible option for many reasons, such as holding the bone structure and tissue in place, so recession does not occur.

Replace a Missing Front Tooth with an Immediate Dental Implant

When teeth are extracted, the hole where the missing tooth was can continue to recede over the years.  When placing a dental implant, many times the dentist will add “bone material” that attaches to the bone to provide stronger ridge to anchor an implant, while helping to maintain a more aesthetic gumline.  This, of course is especially important when replacing a missing front tooth.

During the extraction of a front tooth, you may be a candidate to have the missing tooth attached to the implant at the same appointment, so the missing tooth is immediately there.  In the first picture provided, the implant has been placed and is visible.  A tooth was attached with special parts, allowing for an immediate beautiful smile.  Although, not every person is a good candidate for an immediate attached tooth, that does rule out placing the implant and waiting for the bone to osseous integrate, “glue itself to the tooth.”  During the integration period, which is generally approximately 3 to 6 months, a temporary device called a “flipper” can be used to replace the tooth.

If you are looking to replace a tooth with an implant, Verde Pointe Dental Associates can help determine the best option for you.
